Fix for when Flex and your debug flash player won’t connect for a debug session

Luckily this guy wasted hours finding a fix to this strange issue so I didn’t have to. Right click on the swf and click on “debugger” in the flash context menu (if the “Where is the debugger or host application running?” pop up isn’t already open). Select the “Other Machine” radio box button and type in “127.0.0.1″.  Voila. Why does this work when “localhost” was already selected by default? No idea but i’ll be getting something done tonight. Thank you guy and your blog.

If this doesn’t  solve your issue and your using Firefox 3 check out this Jira.

I ran into the same problem, and did exactly what the blog said, but I still get this error message “A connection to the Debugger or Profiler could not be established by Adobe flash Player 9″. I am using fire fox 3 and flex builder 3, do I need to install some dll for fire fox 3 to make it work?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi “Canvas wall art”. Your name is a little fishy/spammy.. but to answer your question there are known issues with Flex 3 and Firefox 3 noted hear:
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-13064
with some possible solutions. Projects created in Flex 2 and upgraded to Flex 3 don’t seam to have the same issues but I just switch to Safari for now when creating new Flex 3 projects.

Hi, I have the same problem with IE 8 and Chrome 3.0. Someone knows why this is happening?
